My daughter and I have been collaborating on a project together---titled "Her First Man". We figured we could do some learning that way. Niether one of us has ever done a full bodied sculpture before---I've been afraid to attempt one as I feel my knowledge of anatomy isn't as solid as I would like at this juncture. Still, one learns best by just doing it and she has had a sneaky way of getting me to do it---by helping her, lol. We're having fun though and we're learning alot. We don't know why the clay on his head isn't matching up to his torso---unless we actually burned his torso??? I've no idea. I've read a ton of books about sculpting, but still, we feel like we're learning by the seat of our pants. I suppose that's as good a way as any. Still, if any of you clay artists out there have any tips or suggestions, I'm open. I am having fun with it and I hope to one day make wonderful sculpts of my own. Our next projects will be individual pieces so we can learn even more. Trial and error I suppose---I'm just kind of neurotic about making mistakes, but I'm getting over it really quick---mistakes have a thousand valuable lessons mixed in with them.

"The dream was always running ahead of me.
To catch up,
to live for a moment in unison with it,
that was the miracle. "
Anais Nin, 1903-1977
